This traditional silk-screened paper is a dying art form in Japan. For over 1,400 years, generations of artisans have come together to craft Chiyogami paper. Now, less than 100 Japanese families still practice this art form, including the family that hand prints the paper used for these cards.


There’s so much love, energy and tradition that goes into each piece. Both of the featured designs for BOOM! are powerful representations of this traditional art form. You can choose either red or gold designs for your five cards.

  • Do these cards come in different colors?

    Yes! There are two distinct designs with two different colors—red and gold. Choose the design you love on this page, and you’ll receive five cards in that design.

  • Is each card blank inside?

    Yes! Every card is blank, so you’ll have plenty of space inside to add your own handwritten notes or personal greetings for any occasion.

  • Do they come with envelopes?

    Yes, envelopes are included! 

  • Do these cards come with anything else?

    Yes! All five-card packs come inside an eco-friendly cotton muslin bag. Once you’ve mailed all five cards, you can upcycle this cotton bag and use it any way you wish. 


    For example, you might reuse this cotton bag to carry your Boom makeup, keep small items safe inside your purse (like kleenex, change or hand sanitizer), pack your bath items when you travel, or store screws, pins or other small items in your junk drawer at home.

  • Can you mail this card with regular postage?

    These cards are special, so they require special postage. According to the U.S. Post Office, these square-shaped cards are “non-machinable mail pieces.” 


    This means each card must be sorted outside the standard, automated mailing process. For that reason, these cards require a surcharge. If you’re shipping in the U.S., we suggest you ask your local post office for details.

  • How long will these be available?

    Not long. We only have a limited number of cards. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. 

  • Is there a money-back guarantee?

    Yes! Like with all BOOM!, if you don’t love your cards, just let us know and we’ll refund the cost minus shipping.
