No, it’s not—and that’s a good thing!

Waterproof mascaras tend to have harsh ingredients that dry out lashes. They also require more effort to remove, leading to increased lash damage and loss. 

In contrast, Boom Bright hydrates your lashes and leaves them feeling soft and moisturized, and it’s easy to gently remove its water-based formula.

While Boom Bright is designed for quick, simple application, here are a few pro tips to get you started...

Tip #1: Mascara should always be your last step! Apply any moisturizer, Boomsticks or other cosmetics first, then finish your look with Boom Bright.

When applying a moisturizer, keep it light around your eyes. We suggest BOOM GOLD™ because it’s the lightest moisturizer in the Boom line. 

Love using BOOMSTICK GLIMMER® as an eyeshadow? Be sure to dab it on before applying Boom Bright.

Tip #2: Ready to apply mascara? Twist the cap to open and squeeze the tube or swirl the wand inside the tube to coat the brush. 

Important note: Do not pump the wand! This allows air inside the tube and could dry out your mascara. 

If you’ve been using Boom Bright for a while, squeeze the tube from the bottom, like a toothpaste tube, to get the most mascara out. 

Tip #3: Apply a light coat of Boom Bright to lengthen, define and separate. Go for a smooth, even application across all your lashes.

Boom Bright comes with a medium-sized, tapered silicone brush that makes it easy to apply. Hold the wand vertically for easy application to the inner and outer corner lashes. 

Tip #4: With Boom Bright’s versatile, buildable formula, you can change your look by applying additional coats. Experiment with a second or third coat of Boom Bright until you see the definition and drama you want.

Good news: Boom Bright is easy to remove.

Plain water method: Hold a warm, wet washcloth over your closed eyelids for a few seconds, then gently pat or wipe away residual mascara. Take care not to rub the delicate skin around your eyes.

Remover method: If you’re using Boomsilk, BOOM CLEAN® or another makeup remover, add a small amount to a wet washcloth, clean fingers or a cotton pad. Gently swipe across your closed eyelids, avoiding direct contact with your eyes. Use a wet washcloth to gently pat away remaining product.

For mascara mishaps: A tiny dab of Boomsilk on a cotton swab will remove any wayward mascara. Make sure to wipe away residual moisturizer before re-applying your Boom Bright. 

Boom Bright may be easy to remove, but it’s also made to be long-wearing and last all day.

Boom Gold: This is our favorite moisturizer to pair with Boom Bright! Gently dab a little of our lightweight, organic facial oil around your eyes, avoiding the lashes. Let it absorb completely before applying Boom Bright. 

Boomstick Glimmer: Apply Boomstick Glimmer to your eyelids, brow bones and the inner and outer corners of your eyes. Finish your stunning eye look with a coat (or more!) of Boom Bright.

Boomsilk: To remove Boom Bright, add a small amount of Boomsilk to a washcloth, cotton pad or your clean fingers and gently dab across your eyelids—avoiding direct contact with your eyes. Gently wipe away. (Note: Since Boomsilk will remove this mascara, take care when wearing Boomsilk and Boom Bright together. When moisturizing with Boomsilk, try to avoid the area around your eyes, allowing Boomsik to absorb completely before applying Boom Bright.)

Boom Clean: This facial cleanser works with Boom Bright in a couple of ways. First, cleanse with Boom Clean before applying makeup to start with a clean, fresh face. Later, use Boom Clean as a makeup remover to take off your Boom Bright, carefully avoiding direct contact with your eyes.

Once your Boom Bright is empty, wash out the sugarcane plastic tube with warm, soapy water, then add to your regular recycling items. 

Your mascara wand can be upcycled to help care for wildlife. This extra bit of effort is so worth it—especially for animal lovers! 

Boom Bright’s application wand has a fine silicone comb, so it well suited to clean the fur and feathers of ill or injured wildlife. You can donate your used Boom Bright wand to a rehabilitation center or wildlife refuge to help these animals in need!

Here’s how it’s done…

Step 2. Use dishwashing soap and water to hand-wash the tube and wand.
