1. Counterbalance your frames.
Take a look at your glasses frames. Are they chunky? Brightly colored? Delicate and thin?
Your eye makeup should balance the look of your frames. Darker eye makeup with a thicker frame can overwhelm your face, while more delicate styles can support a bolder eye look.
If your frames are chunky or have bright colors, use a lighter approach with your eye makeup. Skip the complicated approach entirely and stick to one or two layers of a soft-black mascara like Boom Bright™.

2. Avoid heavy eyeliner.
If you’re nearsighted, prescription lenses make your eyes appear smaller. Heavy eyeliner can accentuate this effect.
We suggest skipping eyeliner altogether in favor of a more natural look. Stick to cream-based eyeshadow in neutral shades and use a light touch.
Applying mascara to the lash line instead of the lash tips defines your eyes without making them look smaller.
When applying mascara, hold the brush as close as possible to the lashline and wiggle it while brushing slowly upwards.

3. Separate your lashes.
Everyone seems to want long, thick lashes. But if you wear glasses, long lashes brush against the lenses when you blink—which can annoy you and also irritate your eyes.
Curling your lashes will keep them from hitting the lens and also help to open up your eyes. That’s especially flattering if you’re nearsighted.

4. Brush brows up.
Your brows frame your face. When you’re wearing glasses, they also frame your frames. Ideally, your brows should show above your frames.
Brushing your brows upwards helps ensure they show above your glasses.
You might use a brow pencil or powder to fill in sparse areas… but don’t go overboard. If your glasses are thicker, use a lighter touch. More delicate frame styles can support a thicker brow.
Finally, if you’d like, use brow gel to ensure they stay in place.

5. Show off your blush.
Do you apply blush only to see it disappear as soon as you drop your glasses into place? If you have thick frames or your glasses touch the tops of your cheeks, that’s a common complaint.
To use blush with glasses, add it to the apples of your cheeks, then blend back towards your ear and down toward your jaw.
