The Full Boomstick Routine: Step-by-Step for Mature Skin
The Boomstick Trio does everything most women need in three products: moisture, color, and a little light. No brushes, no layering system, no 12-step process. Here's exactly how to use it, from the first step to the last, with notes for mature skin throughout.
What's in the Boomstick Trio
BOOMSTICK GLO
A multi-use, certified organic moisturizer. Goes on first, works as a base for Color and Glimmer, and can be used anywhere that needs moisture: lips, elbows, cuticles, around the eyes. Short ingredient list, no synthetic fragrance.
BOOMSTICK COLOR
A sheer, buildable color stick for lips and cheeks. One product, multiple applications. You control the depth of color. Applies with fingertips.
BOOMSTICK GLIMMER
A subtle, pearlescent highlighter that reflects light without sitting on top of the skin. Works with texture rather than against it.
Step One: Boomstick Glo
(about 1 minute)
Apply Boomstick Glo first to clean, dry or slightly damp skin.
Press into the skin with light, outward strokes. Focus on areas that tend toward dryness: around the eyes, the nose, the lips, and the forehead.
Glo absorbs in about 30 seconds. You're ready for color as soon as it's settled.
For dry lips: apply Glo directly to your lips before Color. It works as a primer and keeps lips from pulling at the Color stick.
Step Two: Boomstick Color
(about 1-2 minutes)
Start with your lips. A light swipe across the center, then press and blend outward with either the Boomstick or a fingertip to soften the edge. Start sheer. You can always add more.
Then move to your cheeks. Dot Boomstick Color onto the apple of the cheek, or apply it to your fingertip first and tap it onto the skin. Blend upward and outward toward the temples.
One layer is barely-there color, that glides with your skin and appears as a natural flush. Two to three layers build a richer flush. Both are right; it depends on the day and your particular mood.
Boomstick Color can also go on the temples or forehead for a sun-warmed effect. There's no wrong placement. Experiment and have fun with this skincare-forward product.
Step Three: Boomstick Glimmer
(about 30 seconds)
Boomstick Glimmer is the finishing step, and you need less than you think.
Classic placement: a light swipe across the brow bone, the inner corner of the eye, the high point of the cheekbone (just above where Color sits), and the cupid's bow.
For mature skin: apply Boomstick Glimmer where you want to catch light, The brow bone, inner corner, and eyelids are all beautiful places to add a subtle glow. Just use a light hand and build as desired. You can also sweep a touch across the shoulders or along the clavicle for an elegant, luminous finish. When in doubt, start with less and blend.
Tips Specifically for Mature Skin
Keep Boomstick Color light on the lips. A sheer, fingertip-blended application reads as a more natural no-makeup-makeup look rather than heavy product application. If your lip line has softened, apply just inside the edge rather than edge-to-edge. You can even layer Boomstick Color on top of your other favorite Boomstick shades.
Boomstick Glo doubles as an eye moisturizer. Pat a small amount around the orbital bone, above and below, and it softens the look of dryness, providing hydration without adding heaviness.
Build slowly. Color on mature skin can look different from swatch to skin. Start light, see how it reads in natural light, then decide if you want more.
The whole routine takes 3–5 minutes once you're familiar with it.
Common Questions About Pro-Age Beauty
-
No. Each one works independently. Many women start with just Boomstick Color or just Boomstick Glo. The Trio gives you the most versatility while also saving money, but there's no requirement to use all three.
-
Always Glo first (it's the moisture base), then Color, then Glimmer. That said, feel free to experiment once you're familiar with each product.
-
Most women get 3–9 months of daily use from each Boomstick, depending on how much product they apply per use.
-
Yes. Apply SPF or any base product first, let it absorb fully, then use Glo and Color as normal. Glimmer works over any base.
-
Each Boomstick uses a short, intentional ingredient list. No parabens, no synthetic fragrance, no fillers. Boomstick Glo is built around organic oils and waxes that absorb without greasiness. Boomstick Color has a skin-forward ingredient list that meets Boom’s Better Beauty Standards. Boomstick Glimmer uses ethically sourced mica as a light reflector.
