The Enduring Legacy of Cindy Joseph
The Enduring Legacy
of Cindy Joseph
Cindy Joseph, BOOM!’s founder, was a makeup artist and silver-haired supermodel.
She was also our friend, our inspiration and the visionary behind the Pro-age Revolution.
Though Cindy is gone, her legacy lives on in the women she inspired, the amazing products she created, and, of course, in all of us here at BOOM!
Today, we remember and honor Cindy by sharing just a few of the many ways she inspired us to shift our thinking.

Among Friends
Those who knew Cindy personally often speak of how she challenged and inspired them. Here are a few of their stories…
Cindy’s good friend Pilar Gerasimo says, “Cindy was willing to try anything once, and she was great about encouraging me to come along for the ride. Things I would never have tried to do otherwise.
“I remember her even saying those words like, ‘Oh just give it a try. Give it a shot.’
“As a person who was less inclined than she was to do those things, it grew my life experience just being friends with her. I really appreciated that and I really appreciated that about her…
“Whether I'm putting Boomsilk on my skin or looking at pictures of us doing goofy things together or reading the words that she wrote, I feel really lucky to have had Cindy Joseph in my life, and I bet a lot of you do, too.
“She'll always be there with us. Her lessons in wisdom and love will continue to expand outward as we share them with others.”
Sarey, another friend of Cindy’s, wrote, “I was blessed to know Cindy and to call her a friend. Seven years older than I, Cindy taught me so much about embracing aging and my silver hair, and helped me to recognize my own beauty.
“More importantly, Cindy taught me how to live life to the fullest with passion and without fear. I am 61 now, traveling the world, having adventures and am in a passionate new relationship. I’m happier than I’ve ever been and I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Cindy—one of the most influential women in my life.”
Boom Ambassador Dina Dillion described how she met Cindy in BOOM!’s early days.
“And all of a sudden, Cindy popped out on Facebook and said, ‘Hey, who in the Houston area might be interested to come and be on a show with me and talk about Boom products?’” Dina said. “And, of course, I jumped on it… There were about 80 of us. And Cindy decided to pick a couple of the ladies there and demonstrated how to put on Boomsticks.
“Cindy was awesome. She took time to visit with each of us. Her message in person...it's just the same as anywhere, you know? On television, on Facebook, the message was solid through to her heart: being pro-age.
“I just feel so fortunate to have spent that time with her and, you know, felt a connection… So, yeah, it was the most incredible time to get to spend with her and learn from her.”
Finally, a classmate of Cindy’s left this comment to remember her: “Last weekend I went to my sister's 50-year class reunion. Cindy graduated that year as well. There was a beautiful area set up to commemorate the ‘Fallen Warriors’ from the Class of 1969. Sadly, Cindy was on that memorial display.
“As a nice touch, the planners left sticky notes that we could attach to the memorial board. I wrote one for Cindy, noting what an inspirational dynamo she was and how her products made me think of her every day as I did my makeup routine… I'm so glad that Cindy Joseph's legacy lives on.”—Marilyn, Class of 1967
Silver-hair Inspiration
Cindy’s influence stretched far beyond those who knew her personally. She inspired an entire generation of women to embrace their silver hair and love every part of themselves.
Here’s what a few of those women had to say about Cindy’s influence on their lives...
Kim writes, “Because of Cindy, I have made peace with myself and have decided to embrace (with both arms!) aging gracefully, without apology.
“I rarely wear makeup anymore—except for my Boom products—and ditched the hair coloring last August. I now have a full head of wonderfully white/gray hair and I love it. Cindy will always have my eternal gratitude and a special place in my heart.”
“I'm comfortable in the skin I'm in at the age of 62!” says Lisa. “I love my silver hair and no longer fuss over maturing into life. BOOM! has inspired me to look at myself through a new lens, the pro-age lens, and I'm grateful. I am sharing my Boom joy with others, too. Thank you, Boom friends!”
Jane, age 75, wrote, “Cindy inspired me to let my hair go gray. I was not encouraged to do this by friends or my hairdresser. They were wrong, and Cindy was right, of course. I love my gray hair. Cindy was a wise person, a great visionary, whose Boom products always deliver what they promise. I’m so grateful for what she shared and started for us women.”
“I used to love watching Saturdays with Cindy,” writes twistedtwig. “She was so personable, it felt like talking with a friend. Her picture was always on my vision board as an example of grace and beauty, and she inspired me to quit coloring my hair and let my silvers shine. I still use Boom products, and her picture is still on my vision board.”
Continuing the
Pro-age Revolution
Continuing the Pro-age Revolution
Cindy’s pro-age mindset inspired many more women to embrace age and natural beauty.
Cindy encouraged women to see signs of aging as badges of honor. She taught us we get more valuable with age—not less.
Here are a few comments from women who have embraced that pro-age mindset...
Jennifer wrote, “Cindy inspired me to think of myself as beautiful and never be ashamed of the way I look at myself as I got older. Thank you to this wonderful woman who, I am sure, has changed many of our lives!”
“I am so thankful to Cindy for helping me define and categorize my own thinking on aging, making it a truly beautiful thing. Cindy Joseph, her product line and her philosophy on women and aging… I have Cindy to thank for helping me embrace these years! Ladies, may we all go forward and encourage those behind us that the best is yet to come.”—HorseladyJane
“I remember the first time I saw her as a model in a clothing catalog. It was a nice surprise to see a woman with silver hair alongside younger models and in something besides an ad for Medicare or leaky bladder products! Her presence there gave a little boost to my own self-perception.”—Nannypiano
“Cindy was one of the most inspirational women I have been exposed to. I think she was always meant to come into my life. I now view the years as a celebration, not a death sentence. I run about town sans makeup (gasp!). I have stopped coloring my hair. Cindy helped me to become the woman I was meant to be and I will be forever grateful for that.”—Kim
The BOOM! Legacy
The legacy Cindy built through BOOM! lives on today. Cindy’s pro-age philosophy is baked into every product we create and decision we make.
Women around the world continue to discover Cindy Joseph and the Pro-age Revolution through Boom products. Here are a few thoughts from these women...
“Cindy and BOOM! have been part of a major healing story for me, both physically and emotionally. I had a very unusual illness, and in order to get well, I had to give up every single thing with any type of toxins in it. Nothing could go in or on my body that wasn't natural. My first change was replacing all my skincare and make-up with Boom. I read about it for years but was never brave enough to try it.
“Now, two and a half years later, I am stronger and healthier than ever. It's been an amazing journey. Thank you, Cindy and BOOM!, for your dedication to natural beauty and quality of life.”—Deborah
“Cindy was a treasure to women of age, and her legacy continues with her products. I'm 73 and still have some looks left. BOOM! was a boon for me, and still is. I use Cindy's products (and others) to benefit my aging skin and changing appearance. Not a kid of 20 anymore, but that's OK, and Cindy helped us all understand that.”—Sharon
We strive every day to keep Cindy’s legacy and pro-age philosophy alive and we thank each one of you for your part in that.
