Pro-Silver Hairdressers

Pro-age means pro-silver hair. Today, Cindy talks about pro-silver hairdressers and tries to connect the Boom community of those wanting to maintain their silver hair with professionals that are encouraging it. Watch the video to learn more.

Hi everybody. Welcome to Saturday with Cindy. Today I'm gonna talk about silver hair, because all of us who have silver hair, if we let it show or not. It may have started when you were 20. Mine started in my early 30s. As you've heard me say before, we are discouraged to allow it to shine and to be part of our identity. We are told that it is negative. It is dirty, bad, and wrong. And, you will lose value and lose your attractiveness if you allow it to shine.

Now, I haven't even combed my hair today. And, as you know, I wear extensions. And, oh man, the whole vibe around it. I actually purposely didn't spruce my hair up today because it just, this whole thing about hair. It has to be thick. It has to be shiny. It has to be a color. It can't be silver, pewter, salt and pepper, snow. Those are not colors. Oh no, that's drab. And, I actually purposely didn't wear a lot of makeup today because like, what's wrong with softness? What's wrong with gray, silver, white? It's just got such a bad rap. Well, those of us who are ready and willing to say, "Hey, this is a color. Age is good. This is positive. This is something to celebrate," are still discouraged by our hairdressers. So, I want all of you who are hairdressers out there, who are pro-age and pro-silver to give me the name of your salon, your phone number, your address. We need you. We need the hairdressers out there who are pro-age.

There were two sisters that came to the San Francisco Pro-Age rally who are both hairdressers and I didn't get your phone numbers. I would love it if you would write either on Facebook or to info@boombycindyjoseph.com or post something below right here and let us know how to find you. Where are you? What can we do? Because the hairdressers who are pro-age and pro-silver can help all of us and all of you to go through the transition period with less pain, with more support. When you start going, "Oh God, oh God. I don't know if I'm ready to do this." They'll say, "Come on. We can do it. We can add highlights. We can make it go faster. We can give you a really cute haircut to start out with." They, you, all you hairdressers can help us.

So, as of this moment, I only know of one. And she has a salon in Eureka, California and it's called the Orange Cup Coral Salon. And she's there ready and waiting to help you find your new, beautiful, silver self. So, give her a call. Even you're in Idaho. You can at least talk to her about it. And maybe she can talk to your hairdresser and help them get over the hump and get into this contemporary, modern, pro-age, pro-women, pro-you, and pro-me attitude and start celebrating our silver hair.

You know, the blondes get highlights. Why can't silver people get highlights? Why can't we get colored streaks within the silver of our hair? We can have some fun. We're all in this together, man. We gotta come together and support each other.
