Welcome to those of you who are here at Saturday With Cindy for the first time. It's Saturday, and I'm Cindy, and today I'm going to talk about the Pro-Age Revolution. I recently held the first Pro-Age Revolution movement rally in San Francisco on July 27th. We had a wonderful turnout. It was a great beginning and I would like to keep this movement going.
My entire schtick is about getting our society, which means each and every person, to turn their anti-ageism to pro-ageism, and it's something for all of us, because every single person wants to know that life gets better and continues getting better. Aging is simply another word for living. So, that's what my passion is all about. And it's all because I discovered as I was getting older, I was getting happier, smarter, more educated, more skilled, wiser, more conscious, more aware, and actually healthier, because I realized I only am going to get one of these bodies, I might as well take care of it. So, I started taking care of it, exercising, eating well, etc. And my life just continued to improve. I continued to improve. If you don't do anything, you end up coasting, and there's only one way to go when you coast. So, it does take conscious effort to improve. So, the longer you live, the more time you have to do it. So, basically, if you have that desire and point of view, it can only get better.
So, we had a rally, the first public rally ever for the Pro-Age Revolution movement. It happened in San Francisco at Union Square on July 27th. And I want to do it again and again and again, because the more we publicly demonstrate that we are celebrating our age and that we feel life gets better if you have a pro-age attitude rather than an anti-age attitude, and boy, you know our society is anti-ageist, big time. That's what all the beauty products are about. You know, first they get all the women to believe in it, now they're starting to get the men to believe in it, and the children. And it's just not the truth.
So, one of the things that I realized after we had this little demonstration in Union Square is that we need a chant. So, I asked a bunch of you to write in and give me your ideas. You were amazing. You came up with so many good phrases and poems and chants and everything. So, I've kind of taken them all and put them together into something, and I want you to vote on this, that I think would work specifically applied to walking together, arm in arm with our signs, with our pro-age hats and t-shirts on, and saying something over and over that will create public awareness.
And it was a tough order because chanting tends to work best when there's rhyming involved. So, it evolved a little bit like this. "Pro-Age, all the rage. Pro-Age, all the rage." And that morphed into "Disengage with anti-age. Pro-Age is all the rage." I like the way that's going. And then, this last one is "We value our age. It's all the rage. We invite you to engage in pro-age." So, then that gets a little wordy. So, how about "We value our age, we are all the rage, pro-age," or "We value our age, it's all the rage. Engage in the Pro-Age Revolution."
Anyway. I don't think we have a final here, but that's kind of the direction we're going. I love "value your age." I think it's really important to have that concept in there, because that's the whole point. So, Kelly, thank you for that. We value our age. We're going to have to come to a decision here and I'm not going to do it without you. A chant. So, imagine all of us walking arm in arm in a massive group of over 500 people, men, women and children, walking down the street together, saying this chant. I'm so excited. So, when I'm in California for the month of October, I am getting together with one of the pro-agers who is interested in having a gathering of people at her home or in a restaurant, so we can share all our ideas and come up with something. And if we get something relatively structured, then I can take that template to all of you, all over America.
I've had invitations from every state, all points where all of you live, and I really think we can do this. But, we need structure and I have to start somewhere. I'm gonna be in California for October, so I figured start there. Get something going that I can then share with all of you, and then each of you can create a gathering in your home and do demonstrations too, with or without me. But, I will definitely come to you to get the ball rolling and get everybody inspired. So, that's what this Saturday is all about, the Pro-Age Revolution. All right. Let me know what you think and I'll be back next Saturday.
