Lab Notes: The Strategy Behind the New Boom Clean Formula (in plain English)

Respect the barrier, don’t bully it. Mature skin has less sebum and a thinner lipid barrier, so harsh surfactants and high-pH washes create tightness and flare-ups. We intentionally chose sugar-based surfactants (glycolipids and sucrose cocoate) at a skin-friendly pH to effectively lift away sunscreen, makeup, and daily grime without stripping.
Feed the ecosystem. Your skin hosts a community of helpful microbes (your skin microbiome) that thrives in a calm, slightly acidic environment. We include a Lactobacillus/rice ferment to help keep the environment friendly to good bacteria while you cleanse.
Hydrate while you rinse. Aloe Vera and Hyaluronic Acid draw and hold water at the surface so you finish clean and comfortably supple.

The Science Snapshot

pH matters. Your skin’s acid mantle sits at pH ~4.7–5.5. Cleansing within this range supports barrier enzymes and a balanced microbiome. Boom Clean is pH balanced to live in that zone.
Surfactant choice matters more. Traditional sulfates can swell and defat the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of your skin). Our glycolipids and sucrose cocoate are known for effective cleansing at lower irritation potential.
Hydro-support during cleansing. Hyaluronic Acid binds water; Aloe is a humectant with soothing polysaccharides. Together, they counter the transient water loss that happens with any wash-off step.
Redness and tone comfort. Chamomile (apigenin) and Licorice (glabridin) are widely studied for calming and appearance-of-even-tone support in cosmetic use.
