5 Tips for Embracing Natural Hair
In our culture, we’re fed a very specific idea of what it means to be beautiful. You know the one: flawless, perfect, smooth, symmetrical, no blemishes, no sign of wear and tear.
Here are Cindy Joseph's 5 tips for embracing your natural hair. Check it out!
#1. Have fun with your roots:
Try short hair! Cut your hair down to where your silver hair ends and wear them as a crown, or go to a hairdresser and discuss making your dyed hair match the natural color you’re growing in.
#2. Don’t judge too quickly:
Don’t judge your natural hair color by only 2-4 inches of roots. Are you snow, pewter, silver, pearl gray, salt and pepper, multi-color streaks? (Remember these are all colors unique to each woman.)
#3. Let your hair grow out completely:
This way you can really see its unique features! (Your hair will be healthier than ever.)
#4. Have fun with the transition:
Go shopping for a new wardrobe flattering to your new color; get some great hats and scarves to ease the transition. Or a fun wig!
#5. Make it a party and celebrate!
Be brave—celebrate your age and wear it proudly. Remember that taking joy in living is the most attractive thing about you
So there you have it. Those are Cindy Joseph's 5 tips on embracing your natural color.
